PORTFOLIO | SMARTPHONE VIDEO TRAINING

HSBC

Celebrating International Women's Day with a smartphone video training seminar for HSBC.

The brief.

HSBC wanted to celebrate International Women's Day by offering a smartphone video training seminar to its commercial banking clients.

I was asked to deliver a short presentation about video marketing to staff and customers at HSBC's Birmingham headquarters in Centenary Square.

The aim of the session was to inspire the bank's commercial clients to promote their businesses with the power of smartphone video.

The solution.

I met with representatives from HSBC's commercial banking team ahead of International Women's Day.

‍We chatted about the useful tips and advice I could share with their clients, and how I could help them to raise the profile of their businesses with the power of video.

I developed a short, interactive presentation which challenged the delegates' fears of using video, and which answered their burning questions!

Strategy
I began the presentation by highlighting the importance of having a video strategy: who is your audience, what is the purpose of your content, what results do you want to see?
Content
We then chatted about the different types of video content that your business could create: promotional films, explainer animations, customer testimonials, FAQs, case study videos.
Filming & editing
I explained how to produce great-looking video content using your mobile phone: exposure and focus settings, audio accessories, tripods and gimbals, lighting, editing tips etc.
Presenting to the camera
Finally, I shared some 'trade secrets' from my 13+ year career as a BBC & ITV television director: how to present with confidence, how to stand, where to look etc.

"Michael presented a great speech on how to create videos using small equipment and with low budgets. Our guests found the workshop very useful".

The power of video.

I take immense pride in having helped more than 20 organisations kickstart their video marketing efforts since launching Embrace Video in 2022.

I am particularly proud to have supported several small businesses and charities who have ambitious marketing objectives but limited budgets and resources.

Helping these clients learn how to tell their amazing stories through the power of smartphone video has been extremely rewarding.

It was a pleasure to speak to HSBC's commercial customers on International Women's Day. I really enjoyed sharing my thoughts on about how video can raise the profile of women in the workplace, and celebrate their stories.
