About me

Hello, I’m a Multi-Camera Studio & OB Television Director based in Yorkshire. I direct a wide range of live and pre-recorded television programmes, both in studio and on location. The majority of my work is in live TV news, but I also direct music, politics, sport, entertainment, factual and live events.

Current employment

I currently work as a Director for BBC Yorkshire, based at their studios in Leeds. I am the Lead Director at BBC Look North, Yorkshire’s most watched news programme. I also direct the Super League Show for BBC Sport, the political discussion show Sunday Politics, and weekly current affairs series Inside Out.

I recently completed an attachment to the highly popular and long-running BBC TV series, the Antiques Roadshow, where I worked as an OB Director.

Skills and experience

I have over eight years’ experience directing live television. I am a hard-working, creative director with a passion for TV production. I enjoy collaborating with production teams, presenters, contributors and crew to create quality programming. I love the buzz of working in live multi-camera environments. I am adept at communicating effectively and troubleshooting under pressure. I have a good sense of humour and am often referred to as a calming influence in the gallery.
